Work and projects

Highlights include:

• establishing and embedding fundamental user experience and design principles across three iconic British brands.
• leading on digital engagement for the transformation of 25 major government services, including Register to Vote
• advising Ministers and company directors on how to communicate complex ideas in plain English
• defining how senior leaders and project teams at the Government Digital Service talk about their work
• coordinating all digital communications, speeches and presentations and media around the development and launch of GOV.UK Verify
• writing the playbooks for using social media in crisis scenarios at both the Government Digital Service and the Parliamentary Digital Service
• setting the direction of UK Parliament’s response to a terrorist attack
• helping staff at the Parliamentary Digital Service find their voice
• directing the team that’s bringing a human face to Parliament
• managing national media responses to major news events at the Press Complaints Commission
• teaching college and university students about press regulation and media ethics at more than 50 seminars and open days

I’ve also blogged about gendered language, taught workshops on collaborative writing techniques, done a bit of public speaking, and had some short stories published.
